Definition: Henri Bendel was a French film director, producer, screenwriter, cinematographer, actor and choreographer. Born in Paris, he began his career as a child actor after winning a talent show but ended up working on a variety of films including "The Hunchback of Notre-Dame" (1968), "Cendrillon" (1970) and "Le Chaperon Partant" (1983). In 1974, he began his film career as an actor by starring in the musical comedy "Les Misérables". He is best known for his role as the French President of France in the 1976 television movie "Cher", which was a huge success.
